Outside Regions Forcing Fuel Imports

The Port Authority is investigating a company importing fuel. This lowers available trade value for regional policies.

-Jeju Harbor-

The Port Authority and Deputy Regional Mayor Zambo have been investigating the recent spate of fuel imports costing the residents of Tiny Town valuable trade balance. Early reports indicate that a convoy was seen bringing fuel in through Jeju Harbor despite requests from city administration that imports be avoided. When confronted about the import, one driver was overheard saying, "I just drive the stuff. They tell me to bring oil for export, I bring Oil. They tell me to bring fuel to the gas station, I get fuel from where I'm at or closest next stop that has fuel! Trade balance ain't my problem. Take it up with my boss!"
Port Authority officials noted the markings on the vehicles caught importing and have requested a change in the routing for the vehicles to avoid what appears to be the accidental importing of fuel. The company responsible has agreed to correct the issue "as soon as logistically possible". It is noted however that there may be a delay as the company management is currently in and out of the city with a number of new company initiatives especially a long term recruiting drive.

City Administration and Port Authority alike refused to publicly identify the culprit but did assure TNN that they were working with the involved parties to correct the issue. They also put out the following brief reminding residents of some key issues to remember when creating routes for company drivers.

  1. Note what is needed on your route at later stops. If an item to be delivered at the next stop is available at the current, it WILL be picked up. This can be avoided by routing through a stop that does not require any products available at the drop. For instance, if exporting Oil, clean your tank, and then go to milk ranch to ensure you are not accidentally bringing in fuel.

  2. If you are manually loading, note the inset on the map to ensure that it does not say "IMPORTING" or have a ship icon in your freight listing. Exports are okay, imports should be avoided with some exceptions. City officials are hopeful a different source for containers that does not affect trade balance can one day be found.

  3. Positive Trade Balance is important to the city as it allows City Officials to enable policies that make your company more profitable, such as longer length limits, higher load limits, and improved wear and tear on your vehicle from better road maintenance.

Please do your part to protect the trade balance and keep it in the positives.
