TinyTown is hiring: volunteer admin team applications now open
We're looking for a small group of mature, dependable volunteers to help moderate, defuse conflicts, and keep TinyTown running smoothly. Apply now if that sounds like you.
TinyTown has grown a lot in the past few months, and we're now at the size where we need help keeping the lights on. Today we're opening applications for a small, hand-picked volunteer administrative team.
What the role is
Administrative team members help with the day-to-day operations of the server. That's chat moderation, helping new players find their feet, defusing arguments before they spiral, watching out for rule-breaking, and flagging bugs as they're spotted. It's not glamorous work — but it's the work that makes the server feel like home.
What we're looking for
- Maturity over age. We do ask your age on the form because the role requires a level head, but we care more about how you carry yourself than how old you are.
- Consistency. A few reliable hours a week beats a flurry of activity followed by silence.
- Fairness. Staff tools exist to enforce the rules evenly — not to settle scores or help friends.
- Calm under fire. The right time to be the most patient person in the room is when nobody else is being patient.
- A real love of TinyTown. If the server doesn't already feel like somewhere you want to spend time, this role won't change that.
What you'd actually do
- Moderate Town Chat and Discord — gentle nudges first, heavier tools only when needed.
- Welcome new players, answer the basic "how do I…" questions, and point folks toward the wiki.
- Step into player-on-player disputes early and help find a resolution that both sides can live with.
- File bug reports with enough detail that they can actually be reproduced and fixed.
- Stay in touch with the rest of the staff team in a private Discord channel — most of the job is conversations, not commands.
What you get
- Access to the admin panel and moderation tools on the website.
- The Staff role on the site and Discord, with all the trust and visibility that comes with it.
- A direct line to the people building the server, and real input on the direction we take.
- Our sincere thanks. Volunteer staff are what turns a game server into a community — there is no version of TinyTown that grows without people like you.
How to apply
The application is detailed on purpose. We ask about your age, timezone, availability, past moderation experience, and how you'd handle a few specific scenarios. Take your time on the long-answer questions — we read every one.

You'll need to be signed in with Steam to submit. Approved applicants are promoted to Staff and added to the private staff Discord channels. We'll review every application personally and reply either way.
Thanks for being part of TinyTown. Whether you apply or not — see you on the road.
