Server Types

Three modes: Solo (offline), Host (peer-to-peer, host-only), Dedicated (persistent multiplayer world).

Motor Town offers three multiplayer modes.

Solo (single player)

Played offline against the local save. Property is owned permanently and progress/economy are local to that save file. No external server needed.

Host (peer-to-peer)

A player hosts a multiplayer session directly from their own PC. The world is online only while the host is online — when the host quits, the session ends.

Dedicated Server

A standalone server (Steam App ID 2223650, free for game owners) that hosts a persistent multiplayer world independent of any player's PC. Dedicated servers gate uniquely-server-side features:

Player cap

The current concurrent player cap is 48, with a documented plan to raise it to 128 in the future.
